Cover FA Can't LAN with Steam FA

Hey guys.

I've been tinkering around with FA attempting to get it to run over LAN (Hamachi) with a friend of mine.

Here's how it is. I own a disc copy of the game, and I've patched my game to 3599.

A friend of mine has the Steam version (1.6.6). Using Hamachi, we are attempting a two player LAN game but have been unsuccessful. Whenever either of us hosts, we both hang on the 'Connecting...' dialogue.

I have also tried patching to 3603 for my cover version to appease his Steam version but to no avail.

I don't think I'd need FAF because this is LAN not online, or am I missing something?

We don't support anything outside FAF scope (and so outside the FAF lobby).

This forum was labelled 'FA' problems, not just 'FAF'.

FA steam is a different version. Enter your key in Steam (is possible now) and reinstall fa via steam.

or use both faf and use that version to do a lan game

I would say "FA problems throught FAF lobby".

Your version (3599) and Steam version are totally different. You won't be able to play with your friend that way.
Updating to 3603 won't help either, there REALLY totally differents versions.

Steam versions and 3599 are different, so they cannot work together, EXCEPT through the magic that is FAF.
