I searched forums, but it was difficult to describe the error using keywords that aren't "too common". The closest problem appears to be due to bad permission settings, however that does not appear to be the problem from my logs. This appears to be a server-side error, but I'm not sure. I tried again over several days, so it's not just intermittent unavailability.

Steps to reproduce problem on my setup:
1. Log in to FAF.
2. Click "Coop Missions"
3. Click on an FA campaign mission. (Black Day for this log).
4. Click on a replay link on the leaderboard. (Reaper_Zwei's top solo time in this case).

Then it will attempt updates, but terminates with this error.

I already attempted disabling firewall/antivirus, but it still doesn't update. There are no game logs to post since the game didn't even start. If there are any other logs/tests you need from me, you have to explain what you need and how to get it. (My mind reading team also has a poor track record lol.)

Have you tried launching a normal game first?

FAForever does not have "normal games". There is no option labeled "normal game". All of them are mods. All of them. My Forged Alliance install does run without FAForever just fine, but surely that has nothing to do with why the update failed? I also had no problem running any of the FAForever "tutorial" replays I tried. I can't understand what you are suggesting. I really need a better mind readers team...

Click "Find games" -> Create custom game -> "Forged Alliance Forever".

Anyway, there are numerous problems with the current patcher and have been for a while. This is scheduled to be replaced fully before long, so that's why I'm suggesting to update to 'normal faf' (Latest core mod version) and then back to coop, to see if that resolves it (Worksforme).

OK. I just played a 10 minute "custom game" vs one easy AI on a small map using the "Forged Alliance Forever" mod. It worked as expected without any issues. I then tried the replay again, twice, same steps as before. Same "file not found on server" error, though the first attempt took longer to fail than the second.

Ah, I see.

This is an issue because of the way coop is currently being forced to patchlevel 3632, to avoid incompatibilities with the recent patches.

The problem will be going away with the next lobby update, and the replays should become watchable again.
