automatch not consistent

This is a very old issue, but I don't see if it has been reported earlier.

Regularly when the FAF lobby says that someone of your level is searching ladder, and I click the button to play ladder (either the small one at bottom or the regular one at left top), no match is made, I will just start searching ladder while the message at bottom stays. I suspect that the bottom thing showing up is a result of me fitting in someone elses search range, but that we are not matched after I press the button, because the other player would not fit in my search range. Is that the case? If so, could someone some time give a look at making it consistent?

Unless someone broke it, the message is using the same code than the actual matchmaker, so they are consistent.
