Help please on Upates

Can someone tell me the must have updates to play here? looks like they have to be installed in a certain order.
Noobs ok to play here? GPGnet made it sound like noobs get kicked. I haven't played (except for skirmish) since '08.

all you need to do is install faf via the download ~ http://www.faforever.com/faf/FAForeverLobby.msi

and follow instuctions :)

If your noob host your own games for say under 1000 rating and kick anybody that joins over. thats what I did when I was noob and worked quite well. Dont join games that say NO NOOBS because yes, you will get kicked.
