I got a kick ass system and trying to play online but I have versions 3596. I found a various patches but none of them seem to find my version 3596, even if I run as administrator.

I've browsed all night and all this morning in the forum for similar problems but none replicate this. I never get a binFAF folder, nor do I get any of the "forged alliance.exe is up to date." or "GDPBinary.dll is up to date" that others get.

So... Any idea how I can get the patch to recognize my 3596 FA.exe?

You need to patch fa to 3599 before you can do anything with faf. The patch there will patch to you current in gpg, 3599.

Ohh grats on the new computer and grats on joining the best rts ever made, its my opinion and im sticking to it.

And i am very happy with my PC.

Now regarding this update, I have found that patch autoinstaller and when I run it it says.



Thats where im stuck at. Ive seen other similar threads except they have a binfaf folder they delete and fixes it.

I do have the right version as it says on the top right of the FA mainscreen so im @_@ at why the patcher says it cant find it.

Where did you get your copy of FA.

Depending on where (steam/impulse/disc/d2d) they may or may not be able to be patched with gpg for various reasons.

I bought a copy of the game online from somplace ( not steam ) and downloaded it and it wouldnt patch, it had a totally different file structure. Since Ive lost my disks I had to resort to slightly more dubious methods to get my game working.

If you bought your game from steam then viewtopic.php?f=3&t=408 is for you.

If you bought the game elsewhere, you may need some manual assistance or aquire a copy from elsewhere. Cd keys from gpg installs work on steam so you can reg your game there. But pm me before you get that radical.

1.5.3596 off the top of my head. Not sure about the 1.5 but sure about the 3596.

I got it... From somewhere I can't remember. But if it works with steam i'll just buy it from steeam, I think you guys have a thread on how to get it working with that... That should solve all problems.

If you manage to get online with FAF, just pm me and I will help get this working for you. Mebbie he bought his game from direct2drive. I do remember having issues installing from there. I actually bought it after I lost my disks and then there was some issue, maybe gpg didn't work or something didn't patch. There are lots of reasons for something not working than getting a poor quality torrent. I now use a torrented version myself. Its faster and easier than disks, and less hassles than steam. I AM NOT CONDONING PIRATE SOFTWARE.

All you have to do is pm me, I'm on FAF & GPG every day at some stage. There are also a lot of people there that would like to help you.

I stole it from some geek back in 2010 and played it on LAN a few times. xD

No idea where he got it but I know it didn't cost me anything. So if the steam version works I'll just get that.
