And Now I Cant Update

Postby Julia-358 » 06 Jan 2012, 17:04

Greetings,

After a quick research of about 10 minutes I found out that this was the most active Sup Com FA community around. Congratulations for that.

I've been interested in this game for years and have had the opportunity to play it a few times. I finally have the resources to invest it in a PC and one of its main functions will be to play this game.

I live in Netherlands and have 800 € to invest, this game does deserve that much but if I can save a few bucks I won't get mad.

I would like to be able to play the mods and with an increased unit cap, Lets say 10k. I would like to know what I would be needing to play this.

Thank you for for reading.

FA is badly multithreaded, so the more ghz the better.

I assume your talking about processors.

I only know how to play games, I can't distinguish a computer part from women cosmetics.

So... How many Ghz would be nice?

Good luck to play with 10 k units :? .
Even the high end CPU can't handle that sadly.

10k unitcap...
to play this with several AIs it would require... well, I think something like ~8GHz per core overclocked processor
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat with experience.

fairly late to buy a pc that runs FA :D this game is 5 years old!

You wont need 800 € for running FA top :D

high GHz is the most important thing ;)

Hum I wonder what kind of computer you get for that price , considering even a 2600K overclocked still lag at some point.

well at some point all computers will start lagging, cause the engine itself is limited.

Any modern computer will run FA fine. You will experience the most problems when using multiple AI though. Just get the best hardware you can afford and you should be fine for a few years on whatever games you want to play.

limitations or epic lack of optimization, but yeah. That's why let's not give the hope to PeTeTe that a comp today can run the game "fine" whole game long.

I "dream" of that CPU that won't ever go into negative sim speed no matter what
