Issues with finding FA path on steam

I have a issue where i get too the window that asks me too specify my forged alliance path (Supreme commander - Forged alliance)

I fallow the instructions but the window keeps opening back up asking for the path again.

i all-ready used the steam FAF installer so i have the binFAF (fafsteam.msi).

as-well I am running it as administrator.

I am running windows 7 64bit

I attempted this exact same thing on my laptop tonight (install FA on Steam, then install FAF, then try to update FAF to play on steam) and I can confirm that this problem exists and that it continues exactly as Derek described.

its not steam fa's it teh faf isntaller see below

i got that when i 1st installed faf on new os install.
