Black screen on FAF but FA runs OK. ICE crashing?

Postby Rinyon » 06 Apr 2020, 18:26

FA runs with no problems from Steam. But when running from FAF client I get a black screen, in game, with menus and sound still working (see screenshot).
No mods, just a Seton's against normal AI. I've attached log files.

run the game outside of faf -> open the chat window via ENTER -> move the window a bit -> close the game -> try again in faf

It worked. Thanks!
Any tips on how to fix my 450 CPU rating? I've spent so much time without any advances! I have a i7-7700HQ,16GB RAM, GTX1050, Windows 10.

@Rowey
There seems to definietely be a problem with CPU rating. 450 is the max (=worst) value i think. I have seen various people with maxed CPU rating recently, which doesn't make sense. Even the most crappy Intel i3 Laptop from years ago should not receive such a rating.

I have a i7-7700HQ as well (Laptop, GTX1060) and my CPU rating is easily between 150 and 200, this is not a slow CPU.

But I've had <200 rating for weeks. Was that wrong? Is my CPU actually bad for playing FAF?

See my post. Your CPU is fine, there must be some problem with the CPU rating calculation.

I did it, while ending all processes possible from task manager, changing CPU affinity and priority. No effect whatsoever.

Go to power options in your laptop and force minimum processor state to 100% and run the benchmark then, if you don't know where it is https://www.techrepublic.com/article/ba ... r-options/
