Automatic map download not working

Hello, new to the forums.

As stated in the title, automatic downloads in the lobby are not working for me (the option is turned on). It just says "player is missing map [...]" and "Loading..." where the map should be displayed in the lobby. I read somewhere that when your local PC username has foreign characters in it (like the German "Ü") it causes problems. Is that still the case?

Have the same problem.
Also can´t find map in the vault. -->joining some games not possible.

we are aware of the issue and working on a solution

the issue seems to be that the game cannot pick up mod or map files if the windows username contains strange chars (eg cyrillic)
the python client used to circumvent this by storing the mod and map files in programdata (similar to the faf patch files)

so the java client does download and install the files as expected but the game cannot see them

as a workaround i suggest copying the mod and map files from your personal folder (click on the icon in the top left in the client -> show mod folder) to your base game install directory

hopefully we can get a hotfix for the java client in the near future for this

in case you don't have strange chars in your username then please post a game and client log
