Downlords client RAM usage

With the recent update with all that ICE stuff, my friend and I have been forced to start using Downlords client to run FAF. However, RAM usage with this client is off the charts to where my friend has been trouble getting the game to run. I don't have an issue cause I run the game on a beefier computer where I have RAM to spare. But he is having issues trying to free up enough RAM to run the game. Why does the client use up 550MB+ of RAM when its just sitting idle? Is there any way to reduce RAM usage?
Perhaps today IS a good day to die. Qapla!
