Downlords Faf client closing / Crashing

Hello

I have an infrequent issue where the faf client closes while I'm in a game. This means i lose connection to everyone. It only happens rarely, but I have no idea why it closes.

The client log does not seem to have anything. There are exceptions, but they are far from the bottom of the log. The log is attached.

Windows event viewer doesn't seems to have anything about it either.

I had same issue several times. Then I started using legacy client and still have no problems with it. I'm using downlords client just to get some accout info and study active lobbies... Unfotunatelly, downlords client is buggy and unstable ... I even had idea to write my own using .NET but have no free time for this yet ...

Yeah legacy client seems to be where it's at. If you ever start on a .NET client, do let me know, I happen to be a .NET developer and wouldn't mind contributing, but probably won't make the whole client myself.

I wouldn't rely on the legacy client as it'll stop working soon. There seems to be nothing in the log causing this crash but that's not the first time I've heard that. When does it happen? What happens then?

We're probably not going to rely on a .NET client as it would remove linux compatibility.

It has always happened while I'm in a game. Whether it can only happen then or not I don't know. The only indication I get is that I'm suddenly disconnected to everyone and then i can look at the task bar and see that the client has disappeared.

I have noticed nothing to indicate it's going to happen, or why it's happening. I play in windowed mode.

If i get a bit of setup help i'm willing to run the client in debug from a devtool like netbeans or whatever type of project it's made in, to try and catch what is happening, though it could take quite a while before it happens again, if it even happens when run that way.

this is not an isolated inscedent. this has happend mutliple time on stream with brnk when poeple have had the java client close unexpectedly with out any indication on why it closed.

Writing here as I see the python client is about to be discontinued,

I have the same problem with the java client. In the middle of a game I lose connection to all the players, so I alt tab and see the client closed on its own. No error message or any events that I can see. Supreme Commander is still up and running, but the client is just gone. Any ideas how to fix it?

Got the same issue, was playing seton's, when suddenly disconnected from everyone and then saw that cllient is closed.

Do you want the "files.log" file inside the ".install4j" directory of the client? Or is there another log you'd like us to upload?
