Black screen flashes on game start at acu zoom [SOLVED]

This problem only happens when I try playing offline, without using FAF. I'm fine with playing the games online, but here it is. I wanted to practice offline so I started trying to do that. The game starts, and theres the typical zoom to the commander but the screen freezes and alternates with a flashing black screen. I tried reinstalling the game -but it didnt work until I actually redownloaded it. I then installed it on a different hard drive and it worked for I think a single game, and when I restarted it did it again.I had tried closing all other running programs, and I didnt find anything running in task manager although I got an independant task manager and saw that some random programs were running even though turned off, i assume its just preloaded cache or something on the RAM, dont know. -but it turns out the software wouldnt let me close them and I couldnt get permission or whatever was needed to do that. So.. thats basically the issue. I didnt find it anywhere on the boards. Oh, and now Im skimping on the worst part of the detail here.. so I did try variations of closing and uninstalling FAF and I think it worked with it uninstalled, but, thats a problem... Now I know that FAF displayed some kind of error log at one point but I couldnt get it to copy, so I dont know what that was about. I know this post is difficult, but however maybe somebody knows what this problem is about, or it gets somebody else that has it in here- so If you guys decide to keep the post up than, here we go. when you say you play offline - how do you run the game exactly?

add a command line switch when starting up the game that contains

/log gamelog.txt

and if you encounter the bug again then close the game and share the gamelog file (it will be printed in the game install location)

if you run the game via steam then you can add this argument via right click on the game in steam -> properties -> set launch options
if you run the exe then i recommend creating a shortcut and adding the argument there

deleting the prefs file did work. hopefully it doesnt come up again. ill check back here to see if we end up knowing what the log file says about it
