My brother refuses Steam, will we be unable to play?

Question - My brother refuses to use Steam, will we be unable to play once the Steam Link requirement is enacted?

Is there a way I can play with him outside of FAF - maybe on LAN?

We all have a licensed (CD/DVD) version of the game.

Yes this is right

Yes, just create a shortcut from "C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe" and start it.
Then you can connect via the ingame multiplayer menu inside your LAN

You can use this key for steam!!!

You don't need to use steam, it's enough registering an account on their website and buying the game / registering a cd/dvd key.
