how do i check if the game is using my onboard graphics card as opposed to my actual gpu? is there a setting in the game or game files that selects which gpu?

I suffered with stuttering, low FPS and UI lag for months, I tried everything I could think of. Recently I just tried switching from Win 10 back to Win 7 and everything turned back to normal, playing felt like bliss now.
Not even a fresh install of Win 10 on a new SSD with everything else helped. I also tried a bunch of drivers and even a new GPU among some of the things I tested.

Just letting you know if you want to try that...
