Login Issue with UID?

Hi, I have been using FAF for a while and am now receiving this problem whenever I try to log in. Could someone please help me? I keep getting this issue:

Failed to calculate UID.
Its a prevention for smurf accounts, however, this is my main account so I am very confused. I have also had this account for like a while now... it then instructs you to contact tech support, hence why I am here.

Hi, could you post the forever.log and game.log please, upload e.g. to pastebin.
The log files can be found in "C:\ProgramData\FAForever\logs".

We've now received multiple of those reports from both clients. Which operating system do you use? Did you do some updates lately?

I am not entirely sure on how to use pastebin, as I am a noob when it comes to CPU stuff, I can just do basic things. However, I am running FAF on a Windows 10 HP laptop. I have not done any recent updates unless FAF has updated. If someone could explain to me how to upload the requested files it would be very much appreciated!

Are you using McAfee antivirus ?
If so, try adding the faf uid.exe to the list of exceptions.

I just started getting this today as well. (Haven't logged in in maybe 2 days??)

Did something get changed?

I looked for the .log files in the mentioned location and there is no log folder in my set up.
I have been logging on without issue on my Windows 7 Pro machine for a few years.
I do have McAfee, but I haven't changed it's settings in over 12 months.

Apparently your system thinks I am a smurf. How I wish I was good enough to have a smurf account..

I tried what you said about the McAfee and it still does not work. It says that I have a smurf account but I dont have one. My little brother has an account and he uses the same computer sometimes. Would that be the reason it would say I have a Smurf account. Please Advise.

Do you still have the faf-uid.exe file in your faf installation?
If not, reinstall faf and get it back. We think it may have been deleted by your antivirus. White list it when you get it back.

What error message are you getting? (you said our system thinks you're a smurf) Are you getting an error for the calculation or for the login? If you and your brother are using the same computer, you should be blocked from logging in as the system detects a smurf unless you link the accounts to a steam account containing a copy of Forged Alliance.

I'd still guess it's a problem with your antivirus having the deleted the file (maybe you should get it back/reinstall). The UID system probably won't prevent you from logging in currently.
