Con problem, Behind data, UPNP problem

Postby Peel39 » 18 Jul 2018, 11:10

Hello, i have a problem without solution like for 6 months and i have no clue how i should fix it.

1. I can't log into the lobby of the game in like one minute after faf client starts.
2. Can't connect to the people in lobby, refaf doesn't work
3. When i'm connected in lobby, there is offen a "behind" problem in game so i need to leave the game.
4. Router problem ? I don't think so because i was playing on my friend's place. He has no such problem, and at the same time i have. We are using the same router so...
5. my UPNP doesn't work (i've checked that in tunngle also)
6. I've tried to fix that problem with wiki article, no effects at all.
7. When i'm hosting the game is fine like in 90% of cases.

Please guys, i have no clue what to do, i've tried everything. Now i start to think that it's my laptop fault (Lenovo y700). I'm using LAN connection ofc.

Thanks for help.

Do you have IPv6 Enabled? . If so disable it as this can provide issues with faf.

1. Try the java client and see if the problem persists. (not being able to join lobbies immediately) Also tell us what the connection status at the bottom right does say.
2. Did you try port forwarding port 6112 to your pc?
3. If you're using windows try blocking port 6112 explicitly in your firewall. I've seen situations where our network protocol has failed to detect non working direct connections and still established them which could lead to you not being able to connect to everyone.
4. Wait for ICE adapter, participate in ICE tests (join discord).
5. If you wanna troubleshoot, come to discord and I can send you my ICE adapter test client, this way I can investigate what way you are/aren't able to establish connections.
6. Try using a different windows installation.
7. Try using a different operation system.
8. Investigate packet loss.
9. Monitor ping permanently (https://ping.canbeuseful.com/)

What kind of network are you using? Private home connection (e.g. cable, dsl, ...), university network, ... (most home connections just have their own assymetric NAT, for bigger networks ISPs often use symmetric NAT's which are a nightmare for NAT Traversal)? Did you get assigned a public IPv4 or just an IPv6 address?

sry for numbering, but I was just writing all down that came into my head that could help.
