Missing map [SOLVED]

Can't start games on the maps like astro crater because game didn't see map. I can see it in the game folder.
Help plz.


and when i'm trying to re-install map from "vault"
this happens:

actual you only see the directory of the map. Maybe it's empty, because the download is not finished ?

Delete the directory 'astro_crater_battles' manually and download it from the vault again.

No, it's actually not empty

Tried that 3 times.

In game lobby it says:
avT missing map
/maps/astro_crater_battles/astro_crater_battles_scenario.lua.

Well, your download failed. So i guess the files are empty?
Maybe some files have 0 kb ?

Also please post the logfile from your client.
If you use Downlords FAF client, then your logfile should be here:

You can also try to install the map manually.

manual install didn't work for me.

I guess the problem is in maps folder or smth like that.

Upd: crater now working for no reason. But other maps still don't. Where can i download map pack?

where exactly is the folder that contains that map on your machine?

there are no map packs

my guess is that your machine saves the maps on onedrive or some dumb stuff like that

I fixed the problem, the issue was that launcher saves map in “documents and settings/.../faf/maps”, but I also need to copy and paste map directly in game folder(steam/steamapps/common/faf/maps. It’s not hard but takes a time.

can you please post the exact location of the folder that the client used to put the maps in?

there is no folder in windows called "documents and settings" that i know of

also don't install faforever in your steam folder (i really hope you meant the base game when you wrote that)

C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Maps - Client downloads maps into this folder.

C:\Users\User\Documents\Мои игры\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Map (Мои игры=My games) - Don't know why this folder even exists. But game creating this one when you install it. I've tried to put maps in here. Didn't work. Only creates some errors when you trying to join the game.

D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\maps - Copy-pasting maps into this folder solves the problem.


I wrote "Documents and Settings" folder only because random guy in game told me that his maps located here. I guess this is the analog of "Documents".
