Hi all.
Just reinstalled the game recently and discovered this place after going on a Star Craft 2 and Battlefield 3 binge for the last year.
I upgraded my machine from an older AM2 Phenom II x4 940 3.0Ghz black to a AM3 1090T 3.2Ghz Hex for BF3 and donated my old rig parts to a gamer friend down on his luck.
With my old build I never had a problem running FA replays which are like watching sporting events to me. However with the new build I'm experiencing stutters. I began to play/experiment with the stutters as well.
Typically they begin about 2 to 15 minutes into a replay and are more likely to occur with higher sim speeds and more people in game. Effectly once the stutters begin I have to throttle the sim speed back down to 0. pausing for a few seconds allows the stutters to stop for a few seconds./ longer the pause the longer before they come back.
I've gone through and update my MOBO's bios and started to run some temperatures monitors of the CPU core thinking there might be something going on with heat... but core temps runs between 30-43C and no hotter. BIOS update did nothing as well. Graphics do not appear to be a problem either. Frame rates run between 50 and 70fps per the "/" command. I also installed the core optimzer for forged alliance. That thing did take main burden off the first of 6 core s and redistibuted it. Nearly 95% on core 1 dropped down to around 50 to 70% with a shared burden. Still no dice.
Discovered the ren_shownetworkstats command in the last couple days. The first two data fields(inflight and available) appear to stack up when the stutters begin and then slowly drift back down to 0 after pausing. (queue) appears not to be affected much.
Wondering if i've go a partially bum processor, need to try a reinstall via steam, or if a file may be corrupt, or maybe a mobo bus problem of some sort.
