Windows 10 1709 update + ati 6900

Postby csoller » 10 Dec 2017, 23:15

Hi,

I installed the 1709 windows 10 update a few days ago and the game keeps crashing since.
First crash was a kinda bluescreen but it didnt even display the message just blue vertical stripes...
After driver update the system doesnt die but the game turns to grey and never recovers.
It happens between minute 5 and 10. I run the game in windowed mode.
I have 2 ati 6970s in cf, a 2600k and 32 gigs of ram. Updated drivers. No oc.
On my secondary pc which i use for 3d rendering i have an old nvidia card and it didnt crash after 20 mins, so its clearly an ati driver issue.

Anybody else having this issue?

If it cant be resolved what should i do?
Buy new vga or buy a second ssd and install windows 8.1?
Win 8.1 was the last windows version that worked perfectly fine, since windows 10 i cand use dual fullscreen.
I am afraid that because its an old game new windows versions just gonna keep causing problems.

edit01: i also tried my notebook with nvidia gtx980m and it works fine, so its clearly an ati issue. Im still corious if im the only 1 with this.

Your video drivers might be too new by default, check what your amd driver version is and if it's newer than 15.7.1 or 16.2.1 Beta that's your problem.

You can get the compatible older version drivers here.

You can get working dualscreen by using this script and UI Party.
