Unable to create direct 3d "error"

hi, when i host or join a game , i have the error message "Unable to create direct 3d "error" .
Sometimes, i can fix it when i resinstall faf or direct x.
My gtx 1060 driver are ok.


Any idea?

Make sure your FAF client is not fullscreen.

Hi there.

Every time i try to start a game i get the message "Unable to create Direct3D". It also happens when i want to start my steam version. Faf client is not on full screen. The problem started a few days ago, before that I didnt have any problems.

Deleted the game.prefs file, didnt help. Reinstalled DirectX, didnt help. Reinstalled SupCom, didnt help. Didnt have any major changes on my PC lately except for a Windows update that took forever. Operating system is windows 10. Thanks for any help.

which direct x did you reinstall? (this game needs directX 9 which should be available when installing/running the game via steam or on the retail DVD)

you could try editing the game.prefs file to run the game in windowed mode instead of fullscreen (look for the "primary_adapter" variable in the "options" list and set it to "windowed")

I used the directx install in the SupCom game folder (D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\DirectX). Tried to change it to windowed, but as far as i can tell it is already set to windowed.

Got it fixed. Apparently windows decided to make changes to my drivers during the mentioned update. Had to update pretty much all of my drivers including graphics.

I'm having the same problem. Installed the latest Nvidea graphics drivers to no avail. Using Windows 10. GnOmOs said he updated all of his drivers. What other drivers are there besides the graphics drivers??? This problem started after the latest FA update!!! HELP...can't play any games and can't watch replays!
