0.16 fails to connect to games

Postby RedPine » 20 Aug 2017, 20:36

The first time I restart my computer and attempt to enter a lobby with the FAF client, everything usually works fine. If I leave a lobby and enter a different one, I never connect to the lobby and I have to abbort the attempted connection. After the first abort I am unable to connect to any future lobbies until I restart my computer - just restarting the client is sufficient.

Once my client becomes borked I can no longer connect to lobbies I was previously able to connect to.

Does restarting help? So far it seems that either restarting the computer or ending FAF client with task manager "resets" it such that it works again.

How about any of you read the instructions and post logs? The instructions are in a red box at the top of this page, with a cute cat picture next to it so you can't miss it.

You can try installing this, which has a speculative hotfix: https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/6 ... -win32.msi

Speculative means I made a guess what the problem could be, since none of you posted any logs, so there's no way to figure out what the problem really is.

I'll try your hotfix next time. For now, installing the prior version (15.3 I think?) fixes the issue.

I got the same issue. Before the latest beta patch (I was using some other 0.16 version before) I got the same problem, but now with the latest version I'm getting it every time I attempt to join a lobby.

Edit: Seems like I can still connect to some games without this error

Edit 2: Now I got the error mid-game, which resulted in me losing connection to all the others in the game. I'll attach the new log for edit 2

Hi, I made another edit since my game crashed mid-game. I thought maybe that could be of some extra help.

Could you please try this client build and see if that changes anything - https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/6 ... -win32.msi
