Account issues of a Fellow Player

My Friend and I are trying to figure out how to get back into his account, i have played a few private matches with him, and now we cannot play, the Password reset isn't working, it is saying wrong email and username combo. but we are looking at the email with the username. we tried to make a new account but it is saying the computer already has a linked account. any help to solve this would be much appreciated

what part of the password reset isn't working?
all you need is the username (make sure to use the right spelling) and the e-mail address
if your friend can't remember one of the two then he/you should get in contact with a moderator
