Help! Connection issues since update!

Since the new update came out very regularly my computer will freeze on the connecting screen upon joining the game, when it freezes I cant even click the abort button I have to sign of my pc to get out of it and yes task manger does not work which also isn't helpful. Anyway my internet hasn't been a problem before so is there something I can do to resolve this?? maybe restart my modem? or change something in its setting? please any help is much appreciated thank you. ~longshot
