Can't join any games or watch replays

I tried to follow the instructions for setting up a second account and nothing works now. When I open FAF and select the Play tab I get the following error message:
"Your computer is already associated with another account. ...must link to Steam." I tried linking to Steam and it just keeps telling me the same thing. I even tried uninstalling both FAF and Forged alliance and even went so far as to buy a NEW copy of Forged Alliance and installing it and re-installing FAF. NOTHING works. How can I get my account unlocked so that I can play online again!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Furthermore, when I try to log into my second account so that I can link that one to Steam, FAF tells me that the account does not exist!

Your old account "PopSniper" definitely exists and is not banned. If you have lost the password, you can reset it using https://www.faforever.com/account/password/reset .
I don't know what the name of your second account is.

The account PopSniper is already linked to Steam. You cannot link another account to the same Steam ID.

The Steam Link feature is intended to allow people who share computers to play FAF.

FAF does not allow users to have more than one account.

Hi, I am having the same issue, though I am sure I have the correct account linked to steam etc.
Also, cannot host a game, or download maps either

look at your router settings and make sure that UPNP is enabled or use manual port forwarding

not sure what causes this error but that one is responsible for you not being able to start the game
make sure that FAF knows where your FA install folder is
