My FA Forever client is weird? [SOLVED]

Hi there. I was hoping someone could help me fix my client.
Admitedly I haven't used in FAF in quite a while, but I posted my queries in the chat lobby earlier and had a few pm's with people, who agreed that what I was describing was weird and that I should post here. Should I have went about this incorrectly or generally I am entirely wrong, I apologise.

My first query is the actual chat lobby. Unless things have changed, shouldn't people have ranked groups? (The squares with + signs in them etcetera) and have a rating displayed, as shown in this other picture? :

My second query is the 'Play' tab: Shouldn't I be able to select modes, or have the option of joining other peoples games? If I try to queue up in a ladder match it just continues endlessly No doubt I've screwed up of my own accord somewhere, I just miss the game and want to get back into it

So after several reinstallations (To see if it'd fix it) as well as repeatedly closing and reopening FAF through various means, what I have is:

When logging in, the symbol is white. Within 5 seconds it turns yellow and will stay that way.
I also queued up for a 1v1 ladder match, since I seem to be unable to make my own games or join others as shown in the screenshot above. Despite being queued up for 20 minutes (Was watching Youtube), nothing happened. When I then cancelled the ladder match finder and viewed the logs, I found this:

Update: At home with family for easter, but a thought just occurred to me

When I quit FAF for a bit whenever it was, it was because I was at university. Even though I am still there, my timetable is a lot more forgiving hence my attempt to rejoin the community.

Could there be a possibility that the university is purposely blocking me? I know it's a far fetched thought but it seems too bizarre to be my computer which has worked all this time.
