Sound bug

Postby Sovietpride » 12 Feb 2016, 20:59

Not sure how to describe this, but certain sounds dont play in my game.

For example, none of the taunts will activate
All "selection" sounds will play once, and then never play again.

When adjusting hte Fx or VO bar in the sound menu, nothing will play.

The music plays normally.

Other intersting tidbits:
Can't access campaign
No cinematics play.

Sound systemis set to stereo
I have reinstalled FA, and reinstalled FAF.

What do?

Same problem for me, general sounds (guns, explosions etc) do not play at all. Notifications like commander under attack seem to only play once but that seems erratic. Music starts and stops fairly randomly (it seems like it is trying to respond to combat/no combat but not sure)

I did not change anything about my settings, this started since the last update to the faf client

I solved this a few months back and wrote a post about it. I had to restore a windows update backup. Not sure why

This is what I answered last year to somebody, please check if this helps:
See if it helps to disable some playback sound setting in the Windows sound settings. I have two playback sound devices: Digital Audio (HDMI) and Speakers. Since I only use Speakers I disabled HDMI. I'm not sure but since I disabled HDMI my sound issues seem to have disappeared.
