Unable to launch FA after harddrive fail

Postby NodCommander » 04 Nov 2015, 23:21

Hello!

So, I accidentally corrupted my storage drive the other day. Its no big deal though. However, I had the FA-game installed on it, while FAF was on my OS SSD.

Now the issue is, despite reinstalling both FA alone, and then both FA as well as FAF I am unable to launch the game at all any more. When I try it gives me this Fatal Error message:

Failed to setup initial search path.

Program : C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe
Cmd line arguments :

Callstack:
Unknown symbol (address 0x008ce850)

Last 100 lines of log...

stack traceback:
[C]: in function `SHGetFolderPath'
...e Commander - Forged Alliance\bin\SupComDataPath.lua(20): in main chunk

This happens both if I just try to launch into the standalone game, or any lobby/laddergame via FAF.
Can someone help me figure what is wrong? :(

P.S Yes I am aware there were other threads like this. However Pilots replies are... Less than useful.
