The app failed to create UPnP mappings for port 6112, and used external port 64594. That means there is no UPnP router available, the feature is disabled, the user has no permission to do it, or windows firewall is set up too aggressively (or off), or a third party firewall might be running.

Setting it to run with recommended settings might help a lot already.

I had the port set to 6112 and I tried with UPnP turned on and off and at one point with the router port forwarded using www.portforward.com's guide for port-forwarding Supreme Commander.

The firewall on my Thompson Gateway TG782T router is disabled and it also has options for using UPnP which are currently set to enable UPnPand I set windows firewall to allow both Forged Alliance and FA Forever. I do not believe I have a third party firewall enabled I will doublecheck that. How would I go about setting it to recommended settings? Thanks for the replies it's really appreciated

As router/firewall configuration seems to be the first thing to blame it might be worth trying to set up a LAN game (option in Forged Alliance main menu) with a friend, if you are able to connect with no problem then your setup is fine, it is also worth testing the connection with the other person being the host (most router firewalls default to allow all outgoing and block all incoming). I had the same problem last Friday trying to connect to games on FAF I knew my router and firewalls were configured correctly and the direct LAN game successful connection proved that.

It does mean though the host needs to pass his WAN IP address to his mate [and port number, use same as FAF for test purposes]. I hope this is of help.

I just tried a LAN game setup between two of my computers using the 6112 port and both computers can connect to each other just fine. What should I try now?

Try to forward another port (like 4321) and put the same number in FAF lobby.

Some users experience problems with 6112 while any other port seems to work nicely.

6112 is used by Battle.net, so maybe they are some special rules about it in some routers.

Also, check if you don't have an extra space after your login when you.. log in.

I have assumed that when you said two of your computers these are computers on your LAN if that is the case then…

That tests any software firewall you might have such as: Windows Firewall, Comodo, Zone Alarm ect, but it does not test the configuration of the firewall in your router or port forwarding, UDP packet transfer is behind your router/gateway. Try the same test if you can with a friend on the internet that way you can confirm packets are going through your router OK. If that works configure FAF UPnP feature to off and set it to use the port you used in your test.

As said before if you host you will need to tell your friend your WAN IP address, an easy way to find it is http://www.mywanip.com/

I fixed it!! I had UPnP enabled on the router and when I disabled it I was able to connect to a game. It must have been conflicting with the port-forward or maybe my network doesn't like UPnP or I dunno but FAF works now!! Thanks for all the help guys much appreciated

after successfully connecting to 2 games, I can no longer connect >.< Now I'm really stumped. I don't think it's a router issue because I have connected to games previously before this problem came about :\

And of course, right after I post that I've lost connectivity, it comes back I might depend on the host because its been known to connect to some people but not others
