----------------THIS ISSUE RESOLVED ON ITS OWN AFTER SEVERAL MORE ATTEMPTS OF RELAUNCHING THE LOBBY-------------------------

thats when i got the message..
the second and thrid time i tried it, it just stuck at the update screen and nothing happened

I can download maps, live chat, see hosted games from the lobby
but was never able to join a game. I do not recall any recent changes of my internet, nor any changes on my hardware.
