q9450 showing 700 cpu rating?!

I gave my buddy my old computer I built. It's able to play 4v4 online, full graphics, zero comp lag, been playing on it for years.(GPG net days and early stages of FaForever)

It's a q9450 quad core 2.66ghz. It shows 700 in faforever lobby and everyone is freaking out and booting him. Anything we can do? I think this cpu score is incorrect.

700 for a Q9450 is indeed not correct. Does your buddy alt-tab just after entering? Does he get the same if he re-runs the bench?

The statement that a Q9450 plays 4v4 without CPU lag is false however. Unless you stay to the smaller maps. On setons it will definitely slow down.

For FAF the number of cores doesn't really matter. So effectively it's a Core 2 Duo E8200 with double the L2 cache. Even if you would OC it 50% it will still slow down. But not as much as most new AMD CPU's.

I agree it would slow down at the end of a long game but initially it would be fine and it shouldnt read 700
