Connection issues

Postby forever-nl » 06 Jul 2014, 12:28

Hi there, I just started playing this great game but having some connection issues.

In the lobby the yellow ping bars for other players are hardly ever visible, and if they are for only a few seconds. Often the host can't start the game because of connection problems (or something?) and I need to rejoin or get kicked.

If the game does start it works flawlessly. But when it ends I always get the following message:

When I perform Proxy Server Test it gives the following result:
failed.png
failed.png (8.58 KiB) Viewed 2082 times

To resolve the issue I tried the following:
- Opened port 6112 to this PC in router
- Tried different port 6113
- Tried using UPnP in settings
- Disabled Windows firewall
- Disabled AVG Anti Virus

My router is a TC7200 and I'm using Windows 8.1

Thanks in advance :!:

You are blocking UDP for FAF.

Thanks for looking into this. I have checked (again) in my router and both TCP and UDP ports are open. Also checked firewall (some firewalls remain active when disabled..) but FAF really is allowed to make contact with the rest of the world. What are my options?

Yeps, definively a program blocking FAF to listen to some ports. Not related to your router, it's something in your PC.

It appears AVG did something weird to it. When I uninstalled it and restarted my computer afterwards FAF worked properly. I then installed AVG again but it didn't cause the issue any longer. I hope this helps others if they are having the same issue and running AVG anti virus.
