Unit DB check boxes and data

Postby Zsombi » 06 May 2014, 20:39

Hello.

1. Could you make the size of the check boxes, used for unit comparisons, bigger or more visible? Because now unless the cursor is above one it cannot be seen and even when the cursor is there it is hardly visible whether it is checked or not. (On Chrome.)

2. There are some units that have incomplete description. I mean that, for example, some of the "beam" and all "comtinuous beam" type projectiles have only some kind of damage value, a dps value and nothing else.

For example: the Seraphim T2 PD and the UEF Defense Satellite both have "beam" type projectiles, the first has a good description of it, but the latter one only has the damage value. o.O The Cybran Monkeylord's microwave weapon has "continuous beam" type projectile, and the only info about it is a damage value of 400 and a dps value of 4000. There is no Fire Cycle, I get that, since it is continuous, but where does that 4000 dps come from? How is that damage applied, in what intervals? No information on that, nothing. The same goes for the Aeon Galactic Colossus too. At least a projectile description like that of the Seraphim T2 PD's would be good for eveery projectile type.

About the Seraphim Experimental Assault Bot's death weapon (the storm I guess): there is written 10000 damage and the range. Okay.. but that damage is not applied at the same time to everything in its range... instead only when they are hit by the storm. But, again, in the unit DB there is no info on that either.
Etc.

Will this be fixed?

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I've also noticed this occurring when you access the UnitsDB from a computer running OSX. (only tried with Firefox, which displays them fine on Windows)

I get your joke.
But Chrome is one of the most used browsers. When you create a webpage to be viewed by others, you have to do your best to create it in a way that it will look and work as intended in all of those browsers.

The game runs in ticks. 10 ticks/second. so the monkeylord does 400 damage per tick which becomes 4000 dps.

When the problem lies within Chrome, there doesn't need anything to be done. If you and a lot of other people want to use a crappy browser: that's your choice. Just don't go complaining everywhere. I for one rank Chrome in the same category as the 30 day Norton trial: to be gotten rid of.

The too small checkboxes occur with Windows 8.1 Chrome 34 and Internet Explorer 11, and with OSX 10.6 Firefox 29.
The checkboxes are OK with Windows 8.1 Firefox 29 and OSX 10.6 Safari 5.1.

Solution seems to be to update supcomDB_main.css

#checkbox {
height: 5px;

Change to
height: 13px;
