Another user is another user ffs!

Hey guys,

First of all, thanks for all the work on the FAF lobby, I love it, and I spammed it to my friends who're now also active Forged Alliance fanboys.

My problem:
I had a friend over, introduced him to FAF. Did the install on my laptop where he made an account and we played FAF happily all weekend.
Now, a week later I'm with my laptop visiting a friend, and I can't log in with my account.

Unique Id found for another user. Multiple accounts are not allowed.

Can't be an unusual use-case?
What can I do?

(isn't that 'unique id' protection a bit to much guys? -no offence-)

You can't do anything for now, except to log with the account used by your laptop on another computer, to "free" it.

It's sad that we must do such protection, but A LOT of players find it wise to create ten accounts.

Eventually, there will be a uniqueId history so you can handle these situations.

Why would they create multiple accounts?
Isn't there a 'solution' to that problem, instead of this 'cure'?

It's called smurfing.
On top of "cheating" for ranked games and making the global ranking totally useless, it clutter the DB with many clones, and make the stats not valids.

I can't avoid people from being stupid, so no, no cure.

The next update of the client will compute the UniqueID a little differently, giving you a second (and only one!) chance to use that laptop with your main account.

It's going to get released over the course of the coming week.

Maybe an 'account management' page would make sense? where you can disconnect your computer's ID from your account?
(or maybe a simple link ala 'forget password')
Make this usable only once each 24hours, and I think it would stop 99% of cheaters.
People with multiple/shared pc's/locations or upgrading/changing hardware will be more common the more popular FAF becomes!

I only have one account but since the last update it gives me the unique id thing so I can't log in anymore :/
