Stand alone FAF mods

Hi,
I've got FAF installed but it's giving me some problems so I'd like to play without it (just single player games - I have no need of nor interest in the lobby stuff).

I'd like to use some of the mods (i.e. blackops) and can see that FAF downloads them to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\FAForever\gamedata

However, the mods aren't conventional - they have non-standard extensions (i.e. not .scd) and they don't have a mod_info.lua or a standard hooks directory.
Is there an easy way to use them within FA when FA hasn't been launched via FAF?

Thanks, but I don't play multiplayer even when it does work. I'm strictly a single-player type.

That said, your link seems to be exactly what I want (the last couple paragraphs actually). I took a look at the wiki before asking but didn't find it.
