Game crash/jittering between two frames

Early in a Setons game my game frooze. The sound continues and when i alt-tab my screen goes grey. I heard the sound but the screen does not show. I did scan the log files and it seems that at line 1781 my graphics driver bugs out. I have had this problem before and it seems to at random. I can't replicate it. Turning mods off and on does not increase or decrease the frequency.

Am i correct in my assumption it is my driver crashing?

I'll have to attached the game.log and the forever.log forum won't allow me to add pastbin links as it feels i am too new.

For now i am going to upgrade my drivers (shouldn't matter with such an old piece of software) and Directx is already the latest versie (9.0C)

DirectX errors indeed (".. DeviceD3D9.cpp ..").

For me getting back to an older graphics driver was the solution.
It can be that your graphics driver was updated without you being aware, since it can be done as part of Windows updates. (If so, you can see it in the Windows Update log.)

Yes i am using dual monitors. Got my main for battlefield and using a secondary 17" for battle field overview. Guess i can try to go windowed. I'll test tomorrow.

I have same problem and have found no 100% fix other than not enabling 2nd monitor in game settings. It does appear that people using certain old graphics cards are able to use, but newer cards seem to have issues. Have to remember that this game hasn't been updated for many years now while graphics cards have lots of new features and ati/NVidia probably don't update drivers with this game in mind.

What is your graphic card if you don't mind me asking??

I have got a GTX480. Not the newest but this way more current then Supcom.

hmm it seems it is not only amd which has crashes like this then...

i don't know what to do tbh, i just play on windowed mode stretched across 2 screens, the press home at the start of the game to split them

I have disabled my second monitor. I guess i will have to zoom more. stretched across two screens will go wonky as one screen is 1920x1080 and the other 1280x1024. And i have downloaded the sweet fx from the other thread but that one is giving weird effects when zooming through a shield so i might have to disable it.

So far no problems. But kinda annoying i can't use my dual monitor set-up. I tend to miss pings.

I am suffering this problem as well. Some computers simply cannot handle dual screen. For a few it seems to work, no idea what is the exact reason but it seems not possible to fix it.
