Hello, Blank Screen When Trying to Join or Host

Hello,

I recently bought myself a copy of SupCom of steam in the hopes that I could start playing online with this wonderful community. However I have been encountering a problem that prevents me from joining or hosting games.
A high-level description of this problem is that, essentially, whenever I try to join a game, supcom launches and loads for a minute, then the screen stays black and the only thing visible is my mouse pointer, which turned into the supcom default mouse cursor. I can access console and press escape and quit but nothing fills up the game screen. I don't know what to do!

I am running supcom on a lenovo laptop with i7 and nvidia geforce 660M on windows 8.1. I installed FAF and supcom on an external hdd, but I don't think that should matter because all the game paths are set properly. I am connected through a college wired connection and there is really no way to do anything with the router but the ports should be bound properly. I will include the logs as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does the steam version runs by itself?

Looks to me that you are missing tons of files, but they are in the log, so I can only assumed they are altered.

Try the "Verify integrity of game cache" in steam.

I reinstalled supcom using steam and did a verification of game files and everything returned green. the game works on its own but doesn't work online.

I fixed this problem by opening ports, if you already have opened the ports that FaF uses try resetting your router? Otherwise good luck with fixing it. Took me way too long.

All the ports necessary are open. I had my friend try it on his computer and it works fine for him and we're both on the same network. Since I'm on a college network I don't have access to router settings, so there's nothing I can do there.

make sure your antivirus or firewall aren't blocking anything for faf

Thats very odd, I had the same issue but it was to do with the ports.

I have the same problem but it only happens sometimes. Sometimes the game works and I get to play a match and sometimes It just stays blank.

If it's the same problem, it's the same solution.

If not, it's not the same problem, and you need to open a new thread & post logs.
