I built a QCF for the first time in a long time. It fails to work. I had forgotten that I can never get this unit to work the first time I build one in a game. After I build one, and destroy/reclaim it, the 2nd one I build works fine.

FYI - I've used the enable/disable buttons and the target buttons to place it.

Not a big deal, because I rarely build one, but it would be great if it worked when I did.

Ok, I did search the FAF forums, but now that I've expanded to the gpg forums, I may have found an answer. I can't try it out right now, but hopefully tonight.

Apparently, at least as of the time that this was posted on gpg, you have to have 10k energy storage to initiate the unit. Afterwards, 5k to run it. Also, 10k to switch targets. I'll report back when I can test this.

You have to build energy storage for it to work, I do not remember exactly how many.

I usually go with 8 e.storage. and two T3 pgens to run the sucker. That usually does the trick.
