Dual monitor problems

Postby D4E_Omit » 02 Feb 2014, 14:22

So, whenever I put on my second monitor for FA the game only uses one of the two and goes low res ( I think 1280x1024 ) This didn't happen before, about 2 months ago and now when I tried to put it on again it doesn't work... Also when I quit the game when I try put on two monitors it gives this crash :
Code: Select all

But looking at the things I see in here I don't think this is related to my dual screen problem.

Hi, I have same problem as you. Dual screen fails almost everytime I use it. The longer the game the more likely it fail.. I think that it is broken somehow. Not that I care but to help you in future learn to use google search or even the search of web forums, however better to just use google..

type in (forged alliance dual screen problem) https://www.google.ca/#q=faf+dual+screen+problem and it will take you to this page http://www.faforever.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=20931

Not trying to be funny but I really don't think most people in the world know how powerfull or how to even use google search.

You will see in this thead that something is broken with dual screen. There is a kinda workaround as you will see but only if your monitors are same resoulution. Did you used to play on GPG with dual screens? Cause I did and never remember having this problem.

I get D3d error in my logs, which makes me think it is a driver issue or something in the game code, but really I have no clue what im talking about. Hopefully someone can fill us in on what the real issue is.

It used to work fine ~a year ago, never had dual screens on GPG, I dont get any crashes of D3D it just refuses to put it on dual screen and resets my resolution to 1280x1024

well that sucks, but you should read post anyways. As if you manage to sort out current problem you are going to run into some more...

If you on win7, hold window key +P and put on extend. And go to in game options [Video} to secondary adapter and select and it should work.

good luck

Thats the problem, it rejects going to dual screen. I click apply and restart game, then I get a 1280x1080 resolution..

Totally forgot! Wasn't working after I got my new GPU, a GTX760. It used to work fine on a 650ti.. Doesn't work on original patches either, tried CD install and steam verify game cache... :/ Out of ideas!
