Important:
This tournament will have a minimum rating restriction of 1500 global rating.
This is done for 2 major reasons: first, judging from previous experience some of lower rated players seem to lose interest in these kind of things really fast after they join the tourney and dont care about playing it anymore; second, this is kind of a "big thing" for the highest rated players and you have to be worth enough to play it. I hope people will understand why i put this restriction.
Tournament format:
The tournament will start as soon as 32 sign ups is reached. If there will be more players willing to participate, the player pool will be extended by 16 more.
The tournament will be held in 2 parts: Qualification and Competitive rounds.
After closing the registration, players will be sorted by their current global rating and split into divisions (detailed info below)
Estimated date for tourney to end is somewhere in the end of February.
Qualification Round:
Initial player pool will be split into divisions 16 player each. Following this, each player in their division will be seeded into aditional 4 player group. The seeds will go: 1,3,5,7 - 2,4,6,8 - 9,11,13,15 - 10,12,14,16 with total of 4 group per division.
(this may seem complicated but i believe it will allow for more fair competition and not just top players pwning lower rated in first round. all you have to do is just join, i will do the math anyway

- every player have to play a match (2 games) with 3 other players in his group and score points
- in those matches both players are to choose one legit 1v1 map to play on in 1 out of 2 games
- players have to arrange time and games among themselves individually
- report results by posting in this thread
- win = 2 points, draw = 1 points for both, loss = 0 points
- first 2 players with top score from each group will progress to Competitive Round
- in case some players will have same score, additional games will be played on map of my choice
Competitive Round:
This is where the real thing begins. I call out to all the casters FAF community has to support this event. To make it really big and interesting it will be great to have all the games casted to cover the entire round. So people will be able to follow it even if they are out or not participating. You can do the casts in any format you like - single person, double or triple cast, etc. I will make special thread later solely for posting results and claiming replays for casting to make things super easy. If you are a caster and reading this, pls post here and let me know if you're up for this or not.
Rules:
- standard KO tourney with BO3 for 1st and 3rd places
- draw = rematch
- report results by posting replays in specifially created thread
