tcp error connection

Postby emperorworm » 03 Jan 2014, 20:31

Hey guys,

I'm a bit new to FAF had Sup Com and FA since they came out but didn't realise a online community existed until recently so I thought I would join and give it a go as I loved playing the games just didn't really have anyone to play with

Anyways I downloaded it fine set up the account and linked it to my steam account and that was all fine I think. The lobby updated yesterday (2nd Jan) I think but I didn't check it before this so that may not be the problem.

When I try connecting to a custom map it goings to come loading bar that disappears before I can read it then either nothing happens or it says I don't have the map do i want to download it so I download it then it does nothing. If i try connecting to a 1V1 by the matchmaking system it seems like its looking then gives a TCP connection error (as shown in the screenshots attached) and disconnects me from all but the what's new page. It also gives this TCP connection error is the lobby is left idle for a while.

I looked on the wiki and the forum but could not find a fix (sorry if i overlooked it somewhere). I attempted to disable the windows firewall and my antivirus temporarily to test it but I got another error message on startup that I didn't get before (also shown in the screenshots) about not resolving ports.

I have attached the FAF log but I couldn't find the game.log I assume as I haven't played a game yet it hasn't been generated.

Many thanks for any help you can give and I hope I can join you in a game soon :)

Your connection to the server is cut, but I have no idea why.

If you have the port warning every time, it could be an over-sensitive firewall (firewall can be integrated in your router/modem).

tried going through the tabs to just see if anything particular disconnected it and it said my lobby was out of date 10.98 rather than 10.99 so i updated it but during update said warning 1910 warning could not find shortcut faforeverlobby.lnk please verify you have access to this. I pressed ok and the update finished. Not sure if relevant but thought I would put it here

No, it's related to a firewall or AV blocking FAF entirely.
