Tying accounts to machines - just why?

Tying accounts to machines? Looks like FAF is trying to be something bigger than it actually is...
...you guys are making an unofficial modification for a game, and this whole account-linking protections seems a bit off.

Googling, I found that if someone requests account unlinking, you do that without questioning... then why even implement such a protection mechanism?

Now I'm just locked out, because I'm trying to play on a shared machine. I'm not even asking for unlinking, because the next person here will have the same problem if I do play on my account.

It's cool that FAF was created, it brings a good game back to life... but I have a strong feeling that you overengineered it. And this stupid restriction out-of-nowhere is a good proof of it.

For fighting smurfs. (and yes, they are a real problems, hence the protection done after a big infestation after only some days).

You are saying I'm not questioning : It's not because I don't ask questions that I can't check facts looking at the DB.

For your problem, use steam-link (both players need a valid steam link).
