FAF Crashing on lobby creation/join

I'm on a fresh steam install of FA and a brand new install of FAF. I can load singleplayer skirmishes just fine and join lobbies fine in the normal sans-FAF game, but attempting to join or create a lobby from FAF always results in an unhandled exception when connecting. I searched the board and found this topic, but the posted solution did not work. I'm running windows 7 64-bit.

Thanks in advance if anyone's able to help. I'm not sure if I followed the instructions correctly, but this is all the information I can give.
