Building Templates not buildable sometimes

Mod:
Blackops, (ressource rich, "nothing but time" too but i dont think These cause this Problem as they just multiply ressources)
Problem:(i used cybrans for that)
1.) Im building an "advanced" building, like the T3 Factories or the "T3" Shield of the cybrans.
2.) then i press the "save as building template" button
3.) The Template doesnt Show up in the Units template menu.

The templates are there in the game.prefs
for example a template containing the T3 land factory (urb0301) is there, but it doesnt Show up in the Units building menue, even if the unit (ACU, T3 engineer, SACU) is able to build this unit (ACU, T3 engineer, SACU)

What could cause this Problem? is it fixable or known?

If you play with different factions you'll need the mod called gaz_ui to save templates for all factions at once, but you mentioned you play with cybran so I guess that's not the problem... You can try clearing your cache or deleting game.prefs but other than that I've no idea what could fix this.

You can always try playing a normal FAF custom game to check if they work, if they do then the mods cause it (resource rich or blackops)..

well its only with specific buildings. i already deleted the game.prefs with the result that the game didnt start anymore =/ well i couldnt get it to "open" it just sat there in the taskbar and when trying to focus it the screen went black for a few secs and then i were back at the desktop. so that wasnt an option.

but for example the t3 resource storage(blackops-building) works in templates. only the upgradeable buildings dont.

i just tested it with forged alliance only, no mods. and i had a similar result. in FA only you can also build T3 factories if you already have a type of that factory. so i built one, put it in a template, and my engineers were not able to build it (it just didnt show up). so it seems that it has problems with the upgradeable buildings in general. which is of course pretty annoying if you want to build a second base without first building all T1 or T2 buildings (upgrading that takes extra time :C)

its the retail version of FA.
so where can i file a bug?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you always need to build a T1 factory and ugprade it to the tier you want (HQ or no HQ...).

However mass extractors and such can be build in a tier higher than T1.

I've no experience with the blackops mod really but I guess it's the same there...

This is incorrect. In blackops and now in engy mod you can build factories directly to t2/t3. You just need an HQ of that type. I.E. to build a t2 land factory directly you need a t2 land HQ, and a t2 engy.

in the normal FA its like astrofoo said. in blackops you dont even have to have a factory before you can build another T2 or T3 one.
but even in the normal FA the templates dont work =/
