FAForever.exe.log error, Map preview corruption

Unfortunately I can not say for sure when exactly this started but it's been going for a few days already. I believe it started after the latest FAF patch.

Symptoms:

1. Every time I close the FAF client, I'm shown a message saying that errors have occured. It refers me to the FAForever.exe.log file.
2. The preview images of certain maps are missing.
3. Removing the corrupted files localy does not help, the same files will be downloaded again and they are always corrupted.

If you view the contents of the png file above, you'll notice that it is in fact an html error page. Rename the extension to html and you can view it in your browser:

Clear your cache (options menu in the lobby), should solve the problem.

I've been having this same error, but it didn't seem to be effecting anything, so I didn't worry about it. However, after reading this I cleared my cache and I'm still having the problem.

Are you sure that you've cleared the cache and not the game files?

In the cache directory, you should not have any .png left.

If you got that error at launch, it's a different issue : erase the logs file in logs manually. (they were written in admin mode and the lobby can't rewrite them).

Yes, I cleared the cache. I was getting the error on close. I just recleared it, and it worked.

So far clearing the cache has worked for me as well. To clarify, I've only cleared the cache once, but restarted for testing purposes 3-4 times.
I will give it a day or so before I call it, I believe the problem only presents itself after a corrupted map was hosted by someone.

Yes. It's possible that the error occurred before the clearing, so you see the error when closing the session, while the incriminating files are already deleted.

I think it is safe to assume that clearing the cache did work, and I only had to do it once so it's not a re-occuring thing. It's weird how removing the files manually did not fix it.
