"Unable to create Direct3D"

My system:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
AMD Athlon(tm)II X3 455 Processor (3CPUs) ~3.3GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7870 (brand new and is the issue I believe)
4 gigs ram
DirextX Version: 11

The full error when trying to start FA is

"Unable to create Direct3D.
Please ensure system has current video drivers."

Using my old video card I was able to play FA without a hitch. Ever since I upgraded to the new card
it gives me this error. Video card drivers are all up to date. I tried deleting game.prefs to no avail.
Has anyone else encountered this error before? Any help much appreciated.

SOLUTION:

Originally I tried going to AMD's website and downloading they're automatic checker. That program ran and said everything was up to date. Apparently that program was wrong. I downloaded the latest drivers from AMD and installed them. Everything is working fine now.
