Lobby freezing / Can't connect to most hosts

Hello,

I couldn't find any similar issues on the forum, so I'm going to describe what's happening to me.

When I try to join a game, it sometimes works as it should, but most of the times, as soon as I join my lobby freezes for about 30sec. I can just move my mouse, I can't even alt+tab! It switches windows only after 30sec. once it's unfrozen, I get a message saying "host timed out". Usually some players can see what I write, but not the host.
I also noted that if I ask the host to reset the game, I can join the game and everything works ok. But when other players come back in the lobby, my game freezes at that moment.

When I host the game by myself, things work way better. I freeze sometimes but it's doesn't cause any problems.

My computer is perfectly stable and my connection is fine. It works flawlessly in every other games I played.

When I leave the lobby, I get a message with a link to the forum http://www.faforever.com/mediawiki/inde ... _solutions
I followed the instructions and my ports seem to be fine.


Any ideas?

No idea.

I have a friend that had/provoke that problem to others. It's probably related to the router or networking, but I don't know much more.

Second problem:
In the window "find game" of FAF. Soemtimes it shows that the game is full 8/8 while we are only 7 in the lobby. That's quite annoying as nobody joins when they see it's full. The only solution is to rehost...
Any solution to that? Thanks.

Yes.

- Check who is listed but not really in the game.
- Check in your lobby what did he do exactly (never connected, left as observer ....)
- Post logs. (if the host AND a player can both post game.log, that would be even more helpful).
- Post game id (as possibly warn me in chat so I can check server logs).

Today I had serious trouble finding a game in which I didn't timed out.

So I checked my game logs and read them for a long time..
I was able to join the game. We were 3 players. As soon as a fourth player joined named "Meteora" I timed out.
I was able to reproduce the same thing twice by asking the host to rehost. The problem was clearly the connection between me and meteora.
When he was in the game I couldn't join. Lobby freezing and then time out. Host could see me connect and disconnect immediately.
I have absolutely no connection issues with the host and played with him just before.

Below, you can see the interesting part of my game.log. It's at that moment that Meteora joined.

Any idea? Is that rejecting thing the problem?

It's not an error. The server send to both players that they can connect to each other, and due to ping, a player FA can already try to contact you while you did not received the connection approval.
