Help pn setting up LAN play

My friend and I are planning on playing FA this weekend. I am bringing my CPU to his house and both computers will be on the same network using wireless. How easy is it to play together on the same network? Both games were purchased from Steam so they are fully up to date. I know enough to be dangerous when it comes to networking but wanted to know ahead of time if I need to do any port forwarding stuff or anything crazy like that. Or maybe its just plug and play?

i only can tell you, how to play completely offline with faforever. look here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3592
if you want to play any other mod besides nomads, change the path to include another .lue file in the end...you can find all .lue files in this folder: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin


so maybe somebody else comes around and tells you how to play faf with 2 computers in one network, but i do not have any experience in that...

Simply use the Multiplayer LAN button in FA to create lobbies. As eXcalibur mentioned, you may modify FAs target to include the mod of your choice. You must download the mods from FAF before you may use them. To run blackops, for example, you need to add /init_blackops.lua to the target in FAs icon. Additonally, you want to use FAFs version of FA: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe
