RE: Setting Non-Default Resolution [NOT SOLVED]

Postby Steph » 10 Apr 2013, 00:49

Hi,

Sorry for creating a new thread, but the old one was locked before I was able to confirm that the solution worked.

It didn't. Line 68 of my Game.prefs, under options = ( now reads "primary_adapter = '1360,768,75',", as suggested by the solution in the previous thread. This is my monitor's native resolution, and the resolution I am trying to achieve. Having wrestled with it for a few days, I've confirmed (by taking screencaps) that FA is displaying at 1024x768 when launched instead of 1360,768, despite that the latter is what Game.prefs seems to think it is.

Any idea what's going on here? I'm at a loss.

Modify your FA shortcut:
Target : C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe
Start in: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\

Launch the game using the modified icon.
Set your profile to your FAF username.
Set your native resolution (it appears in my list of resolutions).
Apply the change.
Exit FA.

Launch from FAF.
Your resolution should stick.

Just tested it, and you're right, 1360x768 now shows up in the Video settings. Does it not do that if you launch from the FAF launcher?

Anyway, thanks for the help! I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

I'm not entirely sure. It could be that FAF was just ignoring the changes you set while in game. You need to set your resolution from the main menu with your FAF username profile to get it to stick, I guess.
