FA Game Lobby Issue

Since the update yesterday, I have been suffering from an issue where I go to join/host a game or even open a live replay and I receive a black screen with just a cursor.
I read through the wiki and followed the guide for this issue but in my windows firewall there was no inbound rule for Forged Alliance Forever just Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance and GPGNet - Supreme Commander Forged Alliance TCP and UDP rules.

Next I tried disabling my ESET Smart Security 6 Anti Virus software and hosted a game, this time the lobby came up with a blank map, also my game did not show up on the Find Games tab. When I tried joining a game I was just stuck on the connecting screen.

I had this problem earlier in the week and it was resolved by enabling uPnP, since the new problem occurred I have tried connecting to games both with this enabled and disabled./

I attempted to port forward on the port 7001 (I also changed the lobby port to this), I can't say if this worked I think I had some trouble setting up a static route, needless to say that my attempt did not resolve my problem either.

How much time do you wait ?

It depends sometimes I will wait a few minutes and other times around 30 seconds, what time should I be waiting for?
When I just get the black screen after a while I Alt-F4 but the game doesn't close, so I close Forged Alliance Forever which then terminates the game.
I figured if I was supposed to be waiting a lengthy period of time before joining a game that would cause a lot of problems.

You probably have a pretty nasty firewall.

Should I be looking through my retail firewall instead of windows firewall?

I just added new rules to my firewall but again to no avail.
I think I'm just going to try a reinstall.

I added rules for the programs to my windows firewall and then played with my retail firewall disabled and it worked.
I tried adding custom rules to my retail firewall but I must of done it incorrectly because it didn't work.
