Minimap black background issue with auto-downloaded maps

Is this fixable? Every map that gets auto-downloaded once I begin a replay is like this. I found them all in the cache folder for forged alliance forever and they look okay there but every time I start a game with them(doesn't matter if its a replay or my game) the minimap is blank.

I attempted to download all maps from the site but the link is broken so I'm not sure what to do here. Any assistance would be glorious.
I also reinstalled FAF and tried to move the maps directly into the SupCom folder(I got it over Steam) but those maps there are .lua files, whatever that means

I wanna start casting some matches but with the minimap broken on many great maps I'm afraid its gonna look rather terrible and its gonna be hard to navigate the map both for myself and my viewers.

it's a problem of the maps itself, many custom maps dont "have" a minimap, you could edit the maps and reupload them, that would be the only way

I would love to do that, can you point me towards the map editor? I have searched and found 2 versions that do not work.

I don't think any of the current casters use the minimap and personally don't think it suits a cast very well.

Excellent thanks guys, also Zaphod, minimap is quite needed unless you have two monitors. Most good battles have multiple things happening at once and if you miss something important cause you didn't have a way of checking that area, its pretty bad since FA doesn't have a time tracker during a replay. Perhaps using a split screen is a good idea but its not ideal I would imagine.

In my case I don't have two monitors so a minimap would be very useful. :D
